Woof hello there! My name is Candy, and I'm a 2-year-old lab/shepherd mix with 75 pounds of pure joy to share! They named me Candy because I'm just as sweet as can be! 🍬 I'm the perfect mix of sweet and cuddly companion! I've got a soft side that loves snuggles, the loyalty that keeps me by your side, and plenty of excitement when it's time to go for a walk! And yes, I think I'm a lap dog so I might make your legs go numb when I plop down for cuddles, but that's just part of the package deal! 😉 A little about my history: I'm a proud mama of four pups, but now that they're all grown up and I'm spayed, I'm ready to focus on being YOUR special companion every day! I've recently discovered the joys of living indoors, and let me tell you, I've taken to it naturally. House trained? You bet! Respectful of your belongings? Absolutely! Great news! I'm now totally comfortable in my kennel and go right in when told! I've even learned the command "on your bed" and I'll lay there patiently until you give me the okay to leave. Pretty impressive, right? I'm also getting better every day with not pulling on walks…I'm working hard to be the perfect walking buddy! My favorite activities include long car rides where I sit like the proper lady I am, walks where I can show off my improving leash manners, and holding hands, yes, you read that right! I've mastered the art of the paw tap when I want to hold hands or get pets. It's my signature move, and it works every time! 💜 I do have a few quirks! I can get along wonderfully with smaller dogs with a slow and proper introduction, in fact, I currently live with my foster parent's tiny pug! With dogs my size, I'm still learning the ropes; my past experiences as a mama dog defending myself and my puppies outdoors have shaped how I interact with them. While I do great with dogs my size in neutral settings like the dog park or during walks, I sometimes feel a bit protective when they visit my foster home. I'm making progress though! I'm a bit shy around men at first, but once I know you're good people, I'm all about those snuggles! And kids? They're my absolute favorite humans!
