Meet me, Coco! I’m a beautiful Rottie/Shepherd mix, about two years old and 55 lbs of lean, athletic energy. I came to rescue as a stray mama dog, and after an illustrious career in motherhood, I’ve retired to pursue my true passions: hopping, snacks, and demanding attention.
I might be a tiny bit cautious when we first meet, but I warm up very quickly and absolutely love affection! When I want some love, I’ll rub up all over you and paw at you for more. I’m basically a professional snuggler with excellent communication skills.
I do really well on walks and behave nicely around other dogs. However, I do get really excited about squirrels and rabbits on walks…they’re just so interesting and I can’t help myself!
I’m currently living with a small pug foster sister, and while we coexist peacefully, I really need a home with a dog my size or larger. I’m enthusiastic and LOVE to play and wrestle! I’m respectful when Frankie signals she’s done with my shenanigans, but let’s be honest, I’d be much happier with a bigger playmate who can actually keep up with me.
I’m crate trained and settle nicely when my foster mom has to leave for a few hours. I’m pretty quiet and rarely bark, even when someone comes to the door. I can be a bit skeptical of men coming into the house at first (though I like them just fine anywhere else…make it make sense), but if there’s another dog around who welcomes them, I don’t want to miss out on potential pets.
I have tons of energy! My famous Tigger hops in the yard are apparently quite the spectacle. I can bounce, pounce, and leap with the grace of… well, Tigger. I also love chasing my ball and playing with ALL the toys. I prefer the suspense of performing a slow and precise squeakerectomy rather than just outright destroying them off the bat. It’s about the journey, not the destination.
I haven’t met any cats yet, so that’s a mystery waiting to happen.
My foster mom says I’m a special girl and that any family would be extremely lucky to bring me into their life. I mean, she’s not wrong.
If you’re looking for an affectionate, playful companion with a medium or large dog for me to romp with, I might be your perfect match!
Love, Mama Coco
