Hi, I'm Dixie! I'm a spunky little dog with a big heart, and I'm looking for a patient, loving family to call my own. For the first few years of my life, I was the devoted companion of an older woman whom I absolutely adored. Because I lived a mostly indoor life, I missed out on some of the experiences that help dogs learn how to navigate the world. I'm still building my confidence and discovering just how much fun it can be to be a dog. Since coming into foster care, I've been working hard on my house training and have made great progress. I do best with a consistent routine and regular outdoor bathroom breaks. When I meet new people, I can be a little shy at first. You might see me hang back or look for a safe place to hide. But if you're patient with me and give me time to trust you, I'll become your loyal little shadow. I love being close to my people and following them wherever they go. I may not always be the bravest dog, but I make up for it with lots of love. Underneath my cautious exterior is a sweet, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be someone's best friend.
