We are a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers with big hearts.
There are lots of opportunities to help that are fun, flexible, and suited to your passions and skill sets.
You’ll never be alone, and there’s lots of support along the way!

Events
All year round and all over the province we host a variety of events to showcase adoptable dogs and raise awareness. From running info booths, set up / take down, selling tickets etc. there’s lots of ways to help.
Fundraising
From bake sales, raffels, selling drink tickets at weddings, auctions and more! Work with us to host your own fundraiser, or be an extra pair of hands for BEDR’s.
Digital Media
Join our media team to help with social media posts and monitoring, developing graphics, posters, videos, and website editing. Creativity is encouraged!
Administration
If you love to work from home and have great typing skills and attention to detail, this position is for you. We always need help with data entry and record keeping.
Transportation
Short trips to the vet, long trips to pick up new dogs coming into care, or picking up supplies that are donated to BEDR, all of these require a driver that loves a sidekick or two (or three or four). We have a BEDR van!
Board of Directors
This is an elected position where members are responsibile for leading important operations critical to the success of BEDR. More information can be found on the Board tab.
Building & Supplies Maintenance
BEDR HQ is a the main hub for BEDR, it houses our supplies and is an emergency safe space for dogs. Our building requires maintenance and cleaning on a regular basis. If you love to organize, clean, or are skilled in any of the trades we have a job for you!
Adoptions Assistant
Dogs go up for adoption twice a week. Join the adoptions team to prepare posts, collect bios, and help get those pups into their furever homes!
Fostering
This position requires a special application to be submitted. Fosters are screened and approved to care for our dogs from intake until adoption. For details on fostering, click here.
